I knew it was Honfleur before I seen the caption, have a friend in that neck of the woods, and you just can't mistake the beauty of that part of France. It certainly leaves little doubt as to how so much art history revolves around that specific area of the world: stunning, and you did it justice here.
beautiful again i would just agree with possible draging out the colour a bit more to the left, because my eyes seem to lock in on that small coloured area and dont really notice the rest of the piece. but amazing job, its great!
You have great rhythm in all your artworks, and this is no exception. However the color in this piece... feels like is doesn't belong somehow. Perhaps a little more continuation with it or a little less yellow over the boat. Of course, other people seem to like it, so maybe its just me.
Overall, I think this is a really strong piece. You obviously have aptitude with using watercolors, and your technique is really interesting in a dream-like manner. I love the changes in direction of your lines throughout, from the vertical buildings in the background, to the diagonals on both the boats and in their reflections. I also enjoy the desaturation of colors on the exterior of the piece contrasting with the saturation in the center, but I do think there could be a little more color (or make it more saturated) to have better balance. Just my two cents. Again, overall, I really love your work, here and in the rest of the gallery.
